The Firsts had a comfortable home win 4-1 against Ashtonians.
Matt Peck (2) and Jack Hilton scored and there was a goal for Jack Kelly on his return to Mellor where he played as a Junior.
The Seconds staged the most amazing comeback since Busted reformed with McFly.
3-0 down at unbeaten and high flying Old Trafford after 50 minutes they struck five times without reply to win 5-3.
The first half had been quite even but Old Trafford took their chances and Mellor didn't.
Luke Jubb might have done better with a close range header after a superb three man counter attack.
And Will Parry should have scored from close in but his shot was cleared off the line.
However, after losing a third goal Mellor caught fire.
Carl Brindley scored four cracking goals, two smashed in from distance.
Will Parry also scored after a lightning break.
Luke Jubb had three assists.
Their were big performances all round and several walking wounded at the end.
So that is five consecutive wins for the Seconds and only one loss in the last eight.
Congratulations to player-manager Dave Moss and his squad.
The Thirds lost 2-3 at home to Bury Amateurs, who they beat 1-0 away.
Rick Axford and Ste Whelan scored.
There WILL be training on Tuesday. Please try to come to Werneth for 7.15pm.
There is also a full programme of matches next Saturday so delay that Christmas shopping trip.
Sorry there are no pictures today. I had to run the line at Old Trafford.
