Mellor Firsts washed out, Seconds win, Thirds and Fourths beaten

Mellor Firsts' game against Rochdalians was abandoned after 15 minutes after a torrential downpour made the already soggy pitch unplayable.

The Seconds had no such problems on the all weather pitch at Curzon Ashton where Old Ashtonians were the hosts. Goals from Jack Hilton and Mike Barlow earned Mellor an impressive away win 2-0. The victory was sweeter because Mellor only had one sub - Paul Newman - who was not fully fit. He had to come on a played a key role in the win.

The Thirds were also on artificial turf but Milton were the masters of the surface and ran out 6-0 winners.

The Fourths were at Brabyns hosting Denton West End and surrendered the points in a 2-1 defeat. Sam Healey scored Mellor's goal.
